a wealth of good practice to utilise.
I pride
myself on having the ability to adapt my technique and to engage effectively
in different situations, drawing on experiences from working with corporate and
business professionals’ right through to young people disengaged from
education, employment or training.

As
well as holding numerous vocational qualifications, I have recently completed
the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) which is

education sector. The qualification is defined as the minimum requirement for
those wishing to teach in post 16 Education. In addition to my Employer
Responsive role, I also teach in the local FE college. I work mainly with young
people to re-engage them initially with education, which usually leads them to
either further education, training or employment. The topics include: employability,
customer service, retail, business administration, personal development, work
skills, enterprise and performance.
My role at
the college also includes design and delivery of quarterly CPD ‘Mentoring
Skills’ workshops for the staff within a large organisation who mentor young
apprentices in the workplace.
I hold Affiliate
membership to the Institute for Learning (IfL) which is the professional
body for teachers, tutors and trainers in the Further Education (FE) and skills
sector, supporting excellence in professional teachers’ and trainers’
practice for learners.
