About me...

I am an experienced learning & development professional, highly self motivated and focused on helping to develop individuals to meet their full potential, in a supportive, flexible and engaging environment.

My training, support and consultancy experience ranges over 10 years, including both private and public sector clients; both large global and small local businesses, in a variety of customer focused environments. This has resulted in a wealth of good practice to utilise.

I pride myself on having the ability to adapt my technique and to engage effectively in different situations, drawing on experiences from working with corporate and business professionals’ right through to young people disengaged from education, employment or training.

I am passionate about life-long learning and as such frequently challenge myself to complete varied continuing professional development opportunities. My keen approach ensures I am continuously striving to improve my skills, experience and professional development in order to help increase the effectiveness of the role(s) I have.

I am a D32/D33 qualified and work as an Employer Responsive NVQ & Apprenticeship Assessor/Tutor for many vocational schemes such as Customer Service, Business and Administration, Team Leading & Management, Sales, Marketing and Retail, which are delivered within the workplace. I also have completed the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) Award qualification and as such can complete the Quality Assurance process for these aforementioned schemes.

As well as holding numerous vocational qualifications, I have recently completed the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) which is recognised by Learning& Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), formerly Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK), the government approved standards body for the education sector. The qualification is defined as the minimum requirement for those wishing to teach in post 16 Education.  In addition to my Employer Responsive role, I also teach in the local FE college. I work mainly with young people to re-engage them initially with education, which usually leads them to either further education, training or employment. The topics include: employability, customer service, retail, business administration, personal development, work skills, enterprise and performance.

My role at the college also includes design and delivery of quarterly CPD ‘Mentoring Skills’ workshops for the staff within a large organisation who mentor young apprentices in the workplace.

I hold Affiliate membership to the Institute for Learning (IfL) which is the professional body for teachers, tutors and trainers in the Further Education (FE) and skills sector, supporting excellence in professional teachers’ and trainers’ practice for learners.
